About the role

We're looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking Transformation Policy Officer to play a key role in shaping the future of Children's Social Care through the Families First Partnership transformation programme. This is a one-year fixed-term opportunity, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to influence lasting change across social care policy and practice.

Reporting to the Social Care Transformation Lead, you will lead on the development and implementation of policy and practice frameworks that align with statutory guidance and best practice. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and commissioned partners, including Tri.x, to embed sustainable improvements that deliver real outcomes for children, young people, and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to influence change at a strategic level and drive innovation across social care services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of policy and practice frameworks

About you

You are a qualified social work professional, registered with Social Work England, with strong knowledge of children's social care legislation, policy, and practice. You have experience leading or supporting service transformation, developing policies and procedures, and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified social work professional registered with Social Work England
  • Have excellent analytical, written, and communication skills
  • Possess experience of policy writing and implementation
  • Demonstrate a keen eye for detail
  • Show proven experience of driving or supporting change within a complex organisation
  • Display a commitment to child-centred practice and continuous improvement
  • Have confidence working across multi-agency partnerships
  • Possess the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, outcomes-focused environment
