We are recruiting experienced social workers for our front door service Assessment and Intervention Teams. If you are passionate about building relationships with children and families at their first contact with Children's Social Care, focused on working towards positive outcomes for children, we would love you to apply.

You will work as part of a fast-paced team responding to child protection needs and undertaking child and family assessments. Under the guidance of your team manager, your team will be on duty every 4/5 weeks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting children and families through the assessment process
  • Co-producing step-down, Child in Need and Child Protection plans
  • Undertaking Section 47 investigations
  • Conducting comprehensive child and family assessments
  • Working within our Better Together Practice Framework based on Restorative Practice principles

About you

  • Have working knowledge of the framework within which social care operates, inclusive of legislation and national guidance
  • Have knowledge of statutory work with children, including children in need, child protection, children looked after and court work
  • Hold a nationally recognised or other Social Work England recognised social work qualification
  • Have at least 1 year of post-qualifying experience in a statutory Children's Social Care setting
  • Have knowledge of different types of interventions in family support
