About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an additional senior social worker to join Adopt London West on a full-time permanent contract, in the Recruitment and Family Finding Team. Adopt London West Regional Adoption Agency is a partnership between the London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham and Hounslow, hosted by Ealing, recruiting adopters and finding families for children across our partner agencies whilst offering support services to adoptive and special guardianship families.

We are looking for Social Workers with experience of adoption and an understanding of the potential complex dynamics in these arrangements. You will be committed to innovative, therapeutically informed practice and be passionate about assuring the best possible outcomes for children and their families as well as driving forward early permanence for children. Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking prospective adopter assessments to a high standard and meeting required timescales for approval
  • Supporting approved adopters to explore links with children with complex needs
  • Supporting the matching and transition of children to their care
  • Providing continuing support of adopters from placement until the making of an Adoption Order
  • Working closely with other professionals and childcare social workers across the Adopt London West region and other agencies

About you

We are seeking experienced social workers who are passionate about adoption work and committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and families. You should have experience of adoption and understand the potential complex dynamics in these arrangements. The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a social work qualification and be SWE registered
  • Have experience of adoption work and understanding of complex family dynamics
  • Be committed to innovative, therapeutically informed practice
  • Be passionate about assuring the best possible outcomes for children and their families
  • Have experience working with other professionals across different agencies
