About the role

We are currently looking for a highly motivated enthusiastic, individual to join our Fostering  Marketing, Recruitment and Assessing Service. We are offering one position on a fixed term for a minimum of 12 months with potential for up to 24 months to cover a sabbatical period.

As a Recruitment and Assessment Social Worker, you will be committed to providing high quality care to Children Looked After and Young People, raising the profile of fostering to ensure all children have positive experiences whilst living away from their families. You will also be responsible for the recruitment, assessment, training, and support of all internally approved foster carers, providing care to any Looked After Child or Young Person.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

About you

For this role, you will need to hold a relevant Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England, along with two years post qualification experience of working in a Children and Families Division including experience in a fostering service. We are looking for someone who preferably has experience of F Form Assessments.

You will bring to the role your sound knowledge of the legislative framework of social service department and the legislative framework relating to children and fostering, particularly the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000 and Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011. You will be able to respond calmly to unexpected and emotive problems, seeking solutions, modifying plans and arranging the provision of additional services and/or resources where appropriate.

With your experience, you will bring to the role the ability to deal with conflict effectively, involving and signposting other people and services where applicable. You will be a creative thinker, self-reliant and resilient, knowing how to respond to situations in a positive and effective way to gain successful outcomes in difficult situations.
