This is an exciting opportunity to be able to join the MAST service (Multi-Agency Support Team) as a deputy team manager within MAST Southall, MAST Hanwell and MAST Northolt-Greenford as we are currently recruiting for four deputy team manager positions on a permanent basis.
The Ealing borough is a diverse multicultural borough and thus there is a strong ethos within the team to imbed cultural awareness and diversity within our daily work and interactions with children and their families. The candidate must be passionate about delivering a family centred service which is child focused, whilst carrying out supportive and safeguarding statutory duties in line with current legation and PAN London guidance.
The deputy team manager will be responsible for the direct line management and supervision of up to six social workers in a pod-based system. There is also access to an in-house clinical psychologist for case consultations and the possibility for short pieces of work to be delivered to the children and families we work with alongside our in-house family practitioners.
There is a strong emphasis on monthly case and personal supervision whereby reflection is a prominent feature in line with the Brighter Futures model of practice and as such we also run group supervision in each team on a monthly basis.
The candidate will report directly to the team manager. You can expect to receive support from your team manager to help you to grow and develop in the role and determine your management style. Ealing Council has an excellent training program and offers coaching support for managers new to the council. We would welcome applications from senior social workers who have the relevant skills and experience to take this step up to management.
More than 360,000 people call Ealing home. Our seven towns - Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell Northolt, Perivale and Southall - are diverse, vibrant and lively communities where over 170 languages are spoken. We will enable you to do the work you care deeply about, and our aim is to deliver the infrastructure that allows that to happen.
Ealing is a great place to come and develop your career. You will be supported in this by colleagues and managers who will provide you with the opportunities to grow, gain experience, confidence and become a reflective practitioner.
Ealing is a richly diverse borough and we benefit from close ties to our communities which enriches our work and continually improves our offer. We are alive to the pressures many of our families are facing and work creatively with families and partners to bring about changes which makes the work that much more energising.
We recognise that to recruit and retain the very best social workers and social care practitioners, we need to bring together all our learning and development opportunities into one place. That’s why we have launched the Ealing Social Care Academy. The academy helps our team connect, collaborate, and engage creatively with internal and external partners and service users.
