About the role

We are looking for a skilled and resilient Service Manager to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people here in Brent. 

The Brent Family Front Door and our Short Term assessment  teams are our first points of contact with vulnerable families. The assessments and decisions made by these teams are crucial to ensure that we provide timely and effective services to protect and support our children and young people. 

Ofsted has recently rated us as “Good” across all four key inspection areas. They noted that “The integrated Brent family “front door” is effective in delivering the right responses for children at the earliest time”.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to join a service which is  developing practice to ensure that we can offer families a consistently excellent service.

The manager will lead a service which consists of the Brent Family Front Door, (including the No Recourse to Public Funds team) and 5 Short term assessment teams.    

Working in partnership with schools, health colleagues and other local partners the manager will ensure that the service  provides excellent outcomes for all of the young people we work with. 

Using our well established practice model and a wide range of training opportunities the manager will develop the staff group to provide consistently high quality practice. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for a combined budget of approximately £4.5 million and will need to ensure that these services provide excellent value for money.

About you

We are looking for an experienced and aspirational leader to build on the existing strengths of the service and to lead further improvements in the years ahead.

The right person will have substantial management experience, excellent communication and decision making skills and be able to work to tight deadlines. 

The manager will have excellent relationship building skills and be able to form effective working relationships with both internal and external partners.

The manager will have the ability to accurately monitor budgets and rapidly address any pressures which arise.
