About the role

The Safeguarding & Support Service invites applications from qualified and child-focused social workers at Senior Practitioner level. This vital role continues the child's journey when cases are transferred from the Assessment Service and where longer-term involvement is needed.

You'll be a resilient and authoritative practitioner who places children and young people and their welfare at the heart of your practice. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex cases, planning intervention and support in a timely manner
  • Ensuring children and young people's voices are heard, positively influence your practice, and recorded consistently
  • Liaising effectively and efficiently with both internal and external partners to ensure children and young people are safe
  • Providing high quality, evidence-based assessments with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Supporting your Team Manager in developing the team, supporting and mentoring ASYE and less experienced colleagues
