About the role

Join us as the 'rebel borough' prepares to celebrate as the 2027 London Borough of Culture! The Safeguarding and Support Team at Haringey Council is comprised of five teams, each led by a Team Manager who oversees up to six social workers. This role emphasises safeguarding, diligent assessment, and intervention to address the unique needs of vulnerable children and families.

By integrating case management expertise and a commitment to professional development, you will contribute significantly to improving outcomes for those in need. Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high-quality casework and services to vulnerable children and families, ensuring their safety and promoting their well-being
  • Conduct thorough assessments including comprehensive child and family assessments and section 47 enquiries to accurately evaluate needs and risks
  • Develop and manage SMART plans for children under Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC) statuses
  • Maintain high standards of professional practice, engaging in regular supervision to ensure ongoing growth and adherence to best practices

About you

You should have a proactive and solution-focused approach to addressing complex social work issues, with the resilience and adaptability needed for dynamic situations. The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a relevant social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England (SWE)
  • Have a minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience, preferably within a similar setting
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Be capable of working under pressure and managing a caseload efficiently
  • Show ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
