About Hammersmith and Fulham

Hammersmith & Fulham is a vibrant and exciting London Borough to live, work and socialise in. Our borough is home to over 195,000 people from communities all over the world, all benefitting from some of the best public services and amenities in the country.

Being a small borough, Hammersmith & Fulham is easy to get around. We are also served by no fewer than 17 Underground and Overground stations, 68 bus routes and a huge number of cycling, rail and walking routes; commuting here is easy!

We have a richly diverse mix of world-class culture and community arts, and a large tech and life sciences district which attracts some of the brightest young talent in the UK.  We also love our green spaces, with 20 of our local parks holding a coveted Green Flag award.

The borough is home to a huge choice of arts and music venues – including the world-famous Hammersmith Apollo – along with a vast range of restaurants. You can also shop, eat and play at Westfield Shopping Centre, which has more than 350 retailers.

Currently being built is our new Civic Campus. Designed by RSHP, one of the world’s most renowned architects, the stunning Civic Campus is Britain’s most exciting new arts, cultural, business, government and community quarter. Hammersmith Bridge is an iconic milestone in the annual Oxford vs Cambridge Boat Race, and we also boast the historic Fulham Palace, Queen’s Club tennis courts, three professional football clubs, and the legacy of hosting the 1908 Olympic Games.

Hammersmith & Fulham is also the only council in the country to offer free adult home care and was the first to offer free breakfasts for all pupils at our local primary schools.
